id really appreciate if you can help me with this..

i dropped my guitar to CGCFAD.. i have 9's on my guitar..
thing is, theres buzz on the 2nd and 3rd frets of the lowest string..
so im thinking of replacing that string alone with a heavier gauge..
is that possible?
coz i really like the feel of my 9's

thanks>

you might just want to adjust your action.. but it wouldn't be that bad if you changed all 3 of your thicker strings to 1 guage up... in fact that would bring you too (Ernie Ball) Hybrid Slinky territory.

You can mix gauges and brands to your heart's content. Many people do.
PRS SC245
Various Strats
Polytone Mini Brute
Koch Studiotone XL
Quilter OD200, 101 Reverb and Mini
1958 National lap steel

Do whatever you want. I used to have an 11 for my high e, and an 11 for my B, and I liked it. There's not rules for what you can do.

Mixing strings should be fine.
It's mixing drinks where you should be careful..
