I was just looking over some Gibsons, and noticed that Explorers and V's are made of both Mahogany or Korina. I have a Mahogany V and i'm very happy with it... just wondering if I bought an explorer in the future the pro's and con's about each would if there is any big difference.
If they have the same pups and just different body woods...there will be a difference, but it takes a damn good ear to hear it.
You will notice some diference on the sustain, the feel and "neck speed". I prefer mahogany, but I have one friend that treats korina like God.
It really depends on the person's personal tastes.
Quick question, will using Korina with active pups work well?
I've never played a guitar with Korina wood.
