If you want a cool metallic sounding bright tone, or for some crazy reason you can't find your pick, try using a beer can lid (the things thousands of college students collect for no reason).

You'd be surprised how decent it sounds. Obviously I didn't strum hard when using it cause I didn't want to screw up my strings
this is a post. there are many like it but this one is mine

i think i'll still to my normal picks, but if i ever come upon desperate times, i'll be sure to remember beer can lids are the way to go
#4

another idea i've heard of for pics is to save your hotel room keys if you go on vacation or whatever and cut them into pics....i've heard of some bands that do this exclusively

Beer can lids ey? Ive tried using them before but found them too thick and also they tended to catch on the string and 'twang' it.

Wierdest thing i ever used was the corner of one of my many useless business 'VIP' cards. You know, those plastic cards that some businesses give out for free which makes you a VIP. That worked alright.

A beer can lid seems a little primitive, but i guess it would sound alright, if you want a safer alternative tho Dava has picks that have a metal tip, they are about 5 bucks each i think but yeh it five you that really bright metally sound that your talking about

I've used thin wood chips and coins... but most of the time when I don't have a pick I just finger pick.
I've decided that my signature is terrible. I'm open to suggestions.

Of course I broke two strings...

haha i know its great isnt it? I can usually watch full episodes of family guy on youtube at my old job... I worked at my step dads computer store for a while and i was the only one there by myself from 3 to 7 every day... i would get bored because i would sit all day and do nothing... so i usually watched old shows on youtube. So try youtube... unless you have gay dial up.. like me at our house..
