Japanese CDs, are they any better than normal CDs?

I'm just wondering as I bought the Japanese version of Led Zeppelin's Presence

Japanese releases usually have bonus tracks that the rest of the world don't get in my experience.

Compare the track listings.

As the owner of many Japanese CDs, no. They are just CDs.

Their packaging is better, though. Doesn't take an hour to get the plastic off, usually takes just a few seconds.

They often have bonus songs that are included in the US or European edition... thats about it...

Usually only 1 song, but could be up to 6...

The 'japanese release' versions of CDs usually have some extra songs.

3. Royal Orleans
4. Nobody's Fault But Mine
5. Candy Store Rock
6. Hots On For Nowhere

The quality of the CDs is the same, but the recordings may be higher quality. That wouldn't be specific to all Japense CDs though.
