I have a fender strat and im trying to screw in the whammy bar and it doesnt seem to screw all the way down. it's sticking out alot. and as i screw it in the strings are changing in pitch because of it. is there a certain way to put it on? does the bridge have to be any certain way? this is so frustrating cause i feel like it should just screw in easily...

any help would be appreciated.

thanks

Why would you want to screw it all the way down? You're not really supposed to. Screw it as tight as it goes WITHOUT much force, then unscrew it one turn. Then it'll be hanging down kinda loose, and it won't get in the way of your picking hand, plus you'll still be able to reach and use it easily.

OMIGOD NO DONT DO THAT!!!!!!!

It's really simple actually...

1)Screw that whammy bar into a moderately tight position. For you, this should be around three turns right?
2)Then unscrew the whammy bar 1 full turn.
3)You are done
