most popular would probably be either a SUNN, 5150, dual recto, or jcm 900. maybe a bad cat.

First of all, I enjoy deathcore for it's complexity and it's the only genre heavy enough for me

I want an amp good for playing hippie tunes. I want it to be an actual amp, not a tube amp.

my bass set up

GK 1001-rb II (700 watts, all that jazz)
Genz Benz X2 Bass 4x10 Cab
OLP MM2

Yeah, I run a $200 bass through a $1400+ rig. Sounds incredible. Might look at a new bass sometime down the road. No real need at the moment though.

Jackson Sl3-->EH Metal Muff-->Peavey Classic 50

I want to add a Les Paul or SG, as well as an Ampeg V4 or a Sunn Concert or Beta lead, or similar sounding amp.

I have a really simple plug in and play typed rig. I only use dry tones so I don't like to carry alot of gear around with me.

I have a Viper100QM - w/emg-81b, and an 85n

a boss ns-2

a randall RH100 head

and a randall quad w/V30's.

I wont bother listing all my recording gear cos there's too much of it.

^I personally think that Randall amps are underrated. Some of them sound really nice.

Me too man, those things are awesome. I think I might spend the extra $10 and get the programmable one.

It's the DI, the rackmount it like over $300. People must be crazy to pay for that little bit of convenience. But yeah, the stomp-box is sick. I played one at GC a while back, it's like my Hartke Bass Attack on 'roids with a lot more grit/overdrive to it. Check them out on eBay, you can pick one almost brand new for half the price of a brand new one.

i use a les paul lollllllll

I use an Epiphone Les Paul. Good price to it and it actually has a nice tone. I use mostly the clean channels nowadays, metal and hardcore I find incredibly boring to play.

Amp is a Fender 112 Princeton. Amazing clean tones.

Gonna get new acoustic Monday, and I presume this will override any usage of my electric pretty much completely.

I have an Ibanez SZ320, plugged straight into my Laney TFX3 half stack. The guitar is fine, I love the neck on it, but the amp is really quite ****ty. I'm trying to save up to get a Ceriatone Plexi 50 with a master volume and a half switch.

Yeah I use an Epiphone too

And until I can afford a stack, my temporary amp is a Fender FM212R and one of those blue boss multi effects pedals for nicer distortion

Used Mexican Fender Jazz bass. Should cost you about $250. Get it set up nice with the extra money.

Definetly go used. If you're near NYC look through the listings for that area, I can guarentee you'll find a great deal. If not look through the listings for the closest major city and check eBay, you might get lucky. I picked up a rackmount BBE Sonic Maximizer for $30 off eBay and a late 80's Peavey T-40 bass for $250

EDIT:
Check for Fenders (Standard series), Spectors (Performer or Legend series), Scheters and Ibanez's(SR series, or SRX's if you like 'em, but SR's are definetly better imo), all great quality basses you can find used for $300 or less.

I play a OLP MM2, love the thing. $200 new, blows away anything else within the range, and even some that are more expensive

Look for a used MIM Jazz. If you can't find anything, this would be another thing to consider. Use the extra money to slap a new pickup or something in it.

this is what ill be using in my upcoming band, minus about 4 of those basses

sorry for the crappy pic

its kind of gonna be a mix of the bronx and dfa1979 except better and with analog synth maybe too.
