I have an old Les Paul copy with a four bolt, bolt on neck.

The neck has been damaged, and I was thinking of replacing it with a natural finish maple neck similar to a telecaster.

Would this be possible, and if so, would it require any body modification.

thanks

Thanks, yeah it is a bit of a weird combo but I hate gloss finish necks

.... isnt a les paul neck angled i mean correct me if im wrong but they usually are and the tele neck i doubt the heel would fit the neck pocket

As far as i can tell the current neck is flat, and it has the same sort of bolt attachment that a Telecaster has.

The neck pocket would probably be angled, not the neck. It could very well work.

ijust to clear this up, this will most likely not work without body modifications. the neck angle is irrelevant, its the size of the heel which matters. not to mention the scale length

What sort of width would the neck pocket need to be

I couldnt tell you as the heel measurements on nearly every guitar differ. unless its a popular brand guitar(fender gibson etc) it would be nearly impossible to find a suitable replacement neck (in most circumstances.)
