i was looking at my brother today and i realized that i am horribly attracted to him...physically...so i was thinking that i should rape him and.....

anyways, now that i have your attention.

for those of you that are still living with your parents or your parents are assisting you with bills, do you feel that you are ready for adult life. i just got to thinking about this and i realized that i don't think i am ready for adulthood. is there anyone else that thinks this way?

I'm seventeen (or near enough so as to make no matter) and living at home, so I still have another year until I move out. I know I'm not ready for adult life because I'm still a student with no job

well im in college right now and my parents only pay my phone bill. i pay for tuition, books, room and board, booze, drugs, etc.

next year i am gonna find this out cause im getting a house with five friends. the only thing i worry about is that sometimes i spend too much on booze and drugs.

but in terms of after graduation, i think ill be better off, cause i wont be hanging around people that are partying all the time, which in turn, will make me party less. ill probably still drink fairly regularly, but not near as much as now.

so yeah, before i graduate, i need to grow up a little, and not be drunk/twisted/bumped as much as i am now

I love you =] I can't say I was very fond of you when we first started talking because you trolled the hell out of my threads, but after talking to you here I've grown very attached to you.

Yeah, write to my fanclub about it, honey.

go up to him and say "victim-of-sodomy-say-what", and when he says "what?" go for it.

But as for adult life, for most people the cutting of the umbilical cord comes suddenly, but usually with some warning, sometimes with out. There is really no getting ready for it, just being mature enough. You'll either find means to support yourself or not. If your not getting kicked out of the house, don't worry so much about it now, but starting thinking about decent jobs and whatnot. If you are getting kicked out, sleep at a friend house until you find a job and get enough dough for a down payment on a **** apartment.

Nah, research a few careers you want, learn about bills and household tasks. If it was so difficult to do our parents wouldn't be here

I'm 19 so I'll be moving out when I say up enough money for the down payment of an apartment and such and get a roommate.

I'm in college, parents pay for every bill that's not my bar tab. I usually only work during the summer, so I save up as much as I can and use that to cover food and entertainment costs for the rest of the year. So to answer your question: I am nowhere near ready for real adulthood. Just the fun part where they can't restrict what activities you partake in.

18, and while I don't want to grow up, I feel that I could manage by myself at the moment. I'm a [nearly] certified welder, and I can run all 3 mainstream processes, which means I will never lack for a $10/hr+ job...plus I happen to know a few people. I think I'd do fine.

Actually, now that I think about it, by the end of the year, I'll be certified in MIG, Stick, and TIG welding as well as having knowledge in CAD technology and basic automotive technology among other things...so yeah I'm set for a while.
Nope, no sig here.

The best way to find out if your ready for adulthood is neverland.

The ranch.

If you can survive there for a month, the adult world should hold no horrors.

Happy Birthday for then then! Also, Greg Proops = legend.

Anyways, I'm off to Uni next year, and I barely even know how to cook. Or clean for that matter. I guess I'll have to go for mixed accomodation

Start drinking Guinness. A couple of pints a day, and the only other thing you'll need will be like a multivitamin or something.

I pay everything myself, my uni stuff, phone bill, music gear, ect.
I think the only thing I occassionally get bought for me is a pair of jeans or something.
I have a job to, so I'm making money so I have nothing to complain about really.

Without sounding nasty or offensive, anyone over an average age of people that can get jobs with no real problem shouldn't be relying on there parents, it's pathetic letting them clean up & sort your mess out sorta thing.

To the TS:
I am planning on moving out with friends and stuff by about September,
I'd class my myself as adult or mature enough to what I need to do.
