i think it looks pretty k3wL now!
i got it for $110 bucks, stripped away that pink paintob and oh so stenchful pickguard.
cut myself a reverse headstock. new tuning machines, bridge, pickguard etc.
still the original pickup, only with a plastic cover as i didn't really dig the sound of the seymour SH-8 that i had in it.
all in all i would have spent no more than an extra $100 (already had the pickup laying around)

that looks crap you should of kept it the way it was and put the pickup in it and put a floyd rose in

man, i would have taken teh hello kitty strat, and modded it to make it sound way better... im thinking active emg humbuckers, etc.
it'd be badass. you show up with this gay-ass guitar, and totally blast their asses off when you jam...

hmm, well, i do happen to have a few hundred coming in in a few months... i'll be back in july

I think it's getting far too "brown" in here.

I might be wrong, but I have serious doubts that you did any of that. You're the same kid with the lame ideas about throwing 5 12AX7s and some wires at your Laney solid state amp, thinking you'd end up with something like a 5150. lol

Cut a reverse headstock, indeed! And attached it to what?
Afaik, the Hello Kitty was only available with a maple board.
There was a rare variant in black, with a black headstock,
that didn't have a maple board.
But it was SSS, not a single HB.

I wouldn't be surprised if the entire neck
is just something someone grabbed from the scrap pile.

Even if you had done all that, it would be silly.
You could get a used Squire Strat, much cheaper, than what you paid for the Kitty.
And the HK has more value, stock, than what you supposedly created.

LMAO SYK Owned!

That head stock looks pretty telecaster anyway.

I rather like the rare black, with HK inlays and shiz, easily the nicest of the HK 'guitars' but yeah customising a HK to make it sound good and still keep the rediculous looks, its alot better than ever covering one up.

This is what I want to do with one.
This is also a good idea.

I dunno... I kind of like the simplicity of it.
-prepares to be beaten-.

Though i dont get why you had to do that to a hello kitty guitar.
Why not just use a run-of-the-mill strat copy?

yea im confused. If you had a hello kitty strat, and left the cat out there and upgraded it a bit and was shredding on a hello kitty guitar that woulda been pretty funny and cool.

But since you redid the entire thing, what was the point of getting a hello kitty guitar?

Its not exactly a hello kitty guitar without the big kitty now is it. Just looks like a lime green strat now with a lefthand tele neck on it.

all you have to do is look at the placement of the volume knob on both guitars and you can tell he's full of ****.
#20
I actually like the body colour, and the fixed bridge, but why did you do it on a Hello Kitty strat, when you could have done it on ANY squier?

The only reason you'd customise a Hello Kitty is to get a more agressive sound while keeping the pansy look. Otherwise, there's no point whatsoever.
#21
first things first, that's a god awful colour and you should burn for that alone. second, why spend all that money when you could have got a plain strat for probably less? third...why a reverse headstock? looks kinda stupid, like a lefty guitar. that in case you suddenly decide you wanna swap which hands you play with?

It wouldn't be difficult at all to move it. Just route a cavity and mount the pot on the pickguard. The pickguard would cover the old hole. I'm not defending what he did, but I'm saying it is possible. Except for the neck. That would be changed.

Actually that's Tom DeLonge. But good call, man. I knew I'd seen that pickguard somewhere before this abortion, but couldn't place it. The body is a bit wrong, though. The DeLonge model has the jack on the face of the body, like a normal Strat.

Also, note the orientation of the Hello kitty's pickguard screws - the holes for them would seem to have magically disappeared if what the TS says is true.
The Laney Thread are big and clever. No exceptions.
