I'm not gonna let this go: Bloodline by Slayer is physically impossible to play in drop C#, it's C# standard.

And I also second the call for sticky.

^Sorry dude, must have missed you.
Um, yea I have a feeling you're right. I seem to recall seeing a guitar lesson in an issue of guitar world that said that aswel.

If it wasn't for the fact that Sydney gets all the AA shows, I would nuke you all, so fast....
Wait a second....

Ok people. All done. Any more submissions/calls for stickying?

Oh and sorry to double post, but I just updated the Dream Theater list.
And all those are double checked, triple checked facts. The tunings for These Walls, Panic attack and Blind Faith are stated by the man himself.

Hmm... Here's some...

Insomnium - D Standard

Opeth also used Drop D on the song 'Blackwater Park', and, according to Mikael, on one song off Watershed. (dunno yet which though :p )

Wintersun use D Standard. E standard on Starchild, and drop C on Beautiful Death and Death and the Healing.

Oh, I found some stuff.

Gorgoroth's Under the Sign of Hell is mostly in D standard tuning, except for the songs "Revelation of Doom" and "Krig" which are in E standard.

SO if Janne and Alexi did a gay porn, would I be the only one willing to buy it?

That's a dumb question, you know everyone in here would buy it too. I know I would!

Not to nitpick, but I'm pretty sure that Quo Vadis is in E Standard. All the tabs I've seen for them on this site are in E and I've played along with songs in E as well.

And this should definitely be stickied.

On the Shores of Ithaka is in D last I checked.

Not sure about the rest of their material though.

Just like to add that Cannibal Corpse play in G# (Ab) standard on Death Walking Terror. The tab claims it to be on a 6 string.

And yeah, sticky much?

Anchorhead uses 8 string guitars tuned to F#.

Buried Dreams uses standard tuning on the album "Beyond Your Mind", and D standard on "Perceptions" and "Necrosphere" albums.
#57
Final Edit:

Santiago from Aghora used 7 strings in standard on the first album but the newer album (Formless) is tuned down a half step.

Ah ok, I don't have that one, but I listened to some songs and I think it is. I'm pretty sure that Day Into Night and Defiant Imagination are in E standard though.
Awesome band anyways.

And, why hasn't this been sticked.........

id like to add that tony iommi uses Eb standard tuning on Heaven and hell, Mob rules, and Dehumanizer, - black sabbath

edit: my bad , didnt see
#63
Exodus's Tempo of the Damned is in D standard.
Also, add Testament. They used Eb tuning on 'The Ritual'. but that's all I know. :P
#68
Divine Heresy is on here but Shadows Fall isn't? They tuned to Drop C# on all of them othere than their latest (Threads of Life), and D standard on Threads of Life if you decide to put them on the list.

I know their banned, but they used to be metal. I hate that they're in the hardcore forums because I don't like going in there just to post for 1 band. It smells bad in there...

Ah, a great omission, Dark Tranquillity!

They've played in Eb and a lot of stuff in C# standard. On Fiction, some songs (IMO the best, Nothing to No One and Focus Shift are the ones I'm sure about) are in Drop B.

you as always, Magero.
#78
Oh and also, I'm going to fix up the whole *varying amount of strings* thing. I did it at first out of convinience but now theres too many bands to keep them in groups that small.
#79
DT used Eb through Haven, and possibly Projecter.

From Damage Done onwards is Db. Fiction is mostly in Drop B (The only one I know is in Db is Misery's Crown...)

For the Behemoth songs that are in that weird drop A/B sort of thingy, add The Reign ov Shemsu-Hor. Also, I'm pretty sure that at least some of Zos Kia Cultus is in B standard.

Also, the latest Amon Amarth album has some stuff in drop B if I'm not mistaken, and their first album, Once Sent from the Golden Hall is in C standard I believe.

Why isn't this stickied!!!!!!!!
