BIG Edit: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Productcompare.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2010380048+4025+1069609639&StoreType=7&CompareItemList=N82E16814127317%2cN82E16814136022%2cN82E16814150107%2cN82E16814161080%2cN82E16814102410R&bop=And

compares some of the ones I'm looking at, but I need help interpereting it.

So I'm in the market for a new video card that will play Battlefield: 2142. I would like to spend no more than $50.

Here are the cards that I'm looking at:

I have AGP. Feel free to suggest other cards or ask any questions. I'll be monitoring this.

Thanks in advance!

Edit: Guys, I'm not a super high-tech gaming wizard. I got Battlefield: 2142 as a gift and I can't take it back. I want to be able to simply RUN it. Right now, I can't. I don't need to play it at the highest resolutions with all the special effects. I'm looking for something that will get the job done with average display settings.

Thanks again.

It's my birthday today and i got this card. It's a bit more expensive, but definately worth it. I can play BF2142 on full no problem.

I'd love to have that card, but it's a UK site and I'm not anywhere near the UK...I don't even know how much that card costs in US money. If it were under $50 US money then I'd definitely buy it. Only problem, it's PCI-E. I got AGP.

Thanks for the suggestion, though!

What's your battlefield name, btw?

Anything made my nVidia. You won't get a good video card for $50.
Be sure it's compatible with your system (aka your motherboard).
Jackson King V KVX10
Line 6 Spider III 75 W.
Peavey 5150/6505 Combo to be owned at the end of 2010.

Actually, yes they will run them worth crap. Battlefield's ReadMe has a list of tested compatible cards and every card I posted is on it. It also says in the manuel that the game was developed and tested with the NVIDIA 6 and 7 series cards. I got a couple 6 series on there.

The 6800 LE but get a cooling kit and overclock it.

Otherwise look at a new system. THose cards are a few generations old now and will struggle to play games now a days. Im running a 5700 LE and i gave up after HL2.

Ah yeah sorry, didn't realize. My name's CPLStAnger (don't ask about the CPL part and no, i do not like St. Anger at all) but I hardly play anymore. I was just testing out my new card.

nVidia or ATi.
You could *probably get away with a mid end nVidia...I'm not sure what spec it requires to run though.
Whatever you get though, for $50 isn't going to be amazing.
Just make sure that whatever you get is compatable with your mobo

The most powerful videocard that I could find for AGP was the GeForce 7600GT.
Dear God, do you actually answer prayers?

Yes, but only in a way indistinguishable from random luck or the result of your own efforts.
