What is a good affordable guitar with a fixed bridge for down tuning? I'm looking for something with a neck similiar or exactly an Ibanez Wizard Neck because they are simply amazing. Also, what is a good string gauge size for both drop c and d standard?

I don't downtune much, so i don't know about string gauge effect, but i do know that trying to force too big of strings onto your guitar is likely to break the nut, especially on the low E. Make sure the channel is wide enough first, don't try to force anything.

Go with a G-400, a lot of people recommend the RG321 but when I tried it out it just seemed lifeless and dull (yes I EQ'd properly). I play everything from COB to SOAD on this. GHS Boomers are pretty good strings.

the zakk wylde 10-60 boomers used to be my favorite for low tunings, but i havent seen them around lately, so i switched to skinny top heavy bottom for drop c and d standard.

4.99 + shipping from MF.
I bought some alongside some other stuff and got them shipped free.
I use 10-60s on my Paul and 10-46s on my SG.
The Paul stays detuned a full step or more, and the SG stays in standard.
