i was looking into mayb getting a compressor pedal (like an MXR), but i don't really what a compressor pedal does. could someone please explain?
- fender american stratocaster (w/ fender '69 custom shop pickups)
- vox ac15
- dunlop crybaby 535q
- ibanez TS808 tubescreamer

I think it brings all the notes you play up to the same volume through the amp. So it would work pretty good for soloing or nice clean stuff. I'm not very knowledgeable on compressors (or any effects!) but I'm pretty sure that's the basic idea. You've got a great steup there as far as gear goes, and it would be a welcome addition to your setup.

EDIT: I'm so dumb. It also adds sustain!
