My band is ready to record some original material but we dont know what 2 do first. We dont know if we should record the vocals then put the instruments or the other way around. PLZZZZ HELPPP.thnx.

um. if you're going to record them one at a time, record the drums first, then the bass, then guitar, then vocals.

PS, I think you're in the wrong forum. You didn't have to put this in original recordings.

our band have been recording for around 5 years and the way we've found best is:

1. drum trax go down, this gives you the backbone to the music, tempo etc.
2. guitars go down, this then colours the song and gives it its original sound.
3. the bass, this fills and backs the guitars and completes the instrumental side of things. if this all sounds good then...
5.lay down your vocals.

If you put vocals down and then try to put instruments over the top your tempo will jump around and ur songs will sound scrappy.
