i want to get a epiphone SG
but make it sound better like a gibson
so should i just replace the pickups with the gibson 490 and 498 pickups?

i play rock blues metal classical pretty much everything else

The pickup change probably wouldn't hurt, and then if you want to take things a step further you can upgrade the hardware. I imagine the woods are pretty close in quality.

Replace them with duncans instead - Custom 5 bridge and 59 neck would be good.

I personally think so, the stock Gibson ceramics are a bit generic sounding.
