What's the closest thing to a Rickenbacker in terms of BRIGHTNESS, for around $250-300?

Would it be those Danelectro re-issues or would a Gretsch Duo or Pro Jet be closer?

Also post if you know of any other brands that would be able to measure up to the BRIGHTNESS.

^I'd let a pro look at it. Once you get into the technicalities of screws...well, it's just a place you don't want to be, friend.

I have also seen the Schecter TSH-1. It has 2 humbuckers, but they're made out of lipstick tubes. Imagine that! Lipstick humbuckers!!!

Also they're "Duncan designed", so what would they sound like do you think?

I'd imagine a Danelectro, vintage or reissue, would work well enough.
Do YOU know who Les Paul is?

Guitars:
-Epiphone Dot Studio
Amps:
-Fender Stage 112 SE
Effects:
-BBE Soul Vibe
-Boss OD-1 Overdrive
-Ibanez DE-7 Delay

An Epiphone Casino would be a decent shout too. Same sort of early 60's twang and warmth as Ricks and Gretsches

True...but doing My Generation with the ones equipped with Bigsbys is a right blast - easy to get the feedback cos of the hollow body and the Bigsby lets you do all the mad whammy stuff with feedback

I have seen great Rick copies that look like 'em as well - "Indie" guitars I think they're called
