does anyoen like corey beaulieu of trivium?

i think he's underrated because he's a newer guitarist
tbh i think this happens a lot.
newer guitarists aren't seen as being gods because they haven't been around for as long.
but i mean guitarists like hermon li will be recognised as gods eventually(im personally not into the 7minute solo's) but i think he should be seen as a potential god now, as he is pretty much an expert in the field of shredding!

This is the least original thread idea ever.

But my favorite guitarist at this time is Tom Verlaine from Television.
#13
Got to be Tom Morello, no one else can wear so many hats and still look cool in a suit. Plus his sounds quite original.
Inanamate objects hate me

I agree with Metalhead A7X. Muhammed is a real good lead player, maybe better than Christian Muenzner (sp?), although Christian has more solo parts in the Epitaph album. Looking forward to their new album.

Maybe hes not known as a good guitarist because he sucks and anyone who has played for a few years can most likely play his own stuff better than him.

Watch this and then tell me with a straight face he's a good guitarist:

I think my favorite guitarist would be....... me. But I like Mark Knopfler a lot.

Mick Barr should be everyone's favourite guitarist

That guy is really fast. If that drummer wasn't so loud and annoying, it'd be better, though.

Anyway, +1 to the guy who said Tom Verlaine, though I like the other guy from Television better.

Steve Howe.
Frank Zappa (Not his solo instrumentals)
Rogers and Chris from Blind Melon
Duane Allman.
Curt Kirkwood.

Yeah, write to my fanclub about it, honey.

Kurt Rosenwinkel: modern jazz. Bandleader as well as collaborators with other jazz groups. Has one of the most refined understanding of complex chords for a guitarist. Excellent composer.

Wes Montgomery: soul/bebop/hardbop/pop/smooth jazz. Mostly a bandleader. Has one of the most sought-after sound and improvisation skills in jazz.

Marty Friedman: rock/metal/newage/pop. Solo career, collaborator, and former Megadeth/Cacophony/Vixen/Hawaii guitarist. Accomplished in bridging Eastern ethnic music with Western pop music as well as fusions of other various music styles and has developed a very distinctive style of guitar playing.

...modes and scales are still useless.
