In a good way...

Eerie, moody, dark, spooky, etc.

I just refinished my bass and got new strings on it after 3 weeks of no-bassness, and i really want to make my home reverberate with eerie sounds...

The first time i heard Schism by Tool, i saw the video, and I was, almost hypnotised by it and the bassline

I was late for college becuase I just couldnt turn it off, and that day I sat and learnt it

it still has that effect, but less so now

10,000 days still does though

Welcome to this World by Primus still freaks me,in fact Pork Soda as an album does as do bits of The Carpernter and the Dainty bride, which sounds very Pork Soda-ry in my opinion

defintly the creepiest, freakiest album Primus did

Tear You Apart - She Wants Revenge

its a very low bassy bass line thats very easy, but i think its exactly what you're looking for, especially towards the end, the bass is kind of solo'd.

one more robot by flaming lips. its not really that eerie but i love it

I've always wondered how many bass tracks are going in that song. I think two, but it just trips me out.

Tool has been mentioned, but its a great one. Disposition and Reflection are two great tracks from Lateralus.

King Crimson - 21st Century Schizoid Man is a little difficult. But an amazing song.

+1. And check out April Wine's cover of that song.

Tool for me is ultimate head phone music and has that layered darkness feel.

But another song that to me is just eerie is Primus' "Mary the Ice Cube".

bass on Half Day Closing by Portishead i very good and has a dark gloomy feel to it especially with the rest of the song.

are you just looking for clean non-agressive basslines or what?

New Born! Especially the bass with the piano. It really sends tingles up my spine.

Most other Muse songs too actually (Hyper Music, Hysteria).

A lot of songs from Muse's Origin of Symmetry and Showbiz albums come to mind.

As said, "Space Dementia", "New Born", "City of Delusion" (from BH&R).

I'd also put in "Sunburn", "Cave", and maybe "Muscle Museum".

Well, only one of their songs was used. And it was heavily edited! 28 Days Later btw.

Oh yeah, check out that soundtrack too. Amazing.

No Quarter-Zeppelin

Breach Birth/Get Some/I Get It - Chevelle

Stinkfist - Tool

Hangin Tree - Queens of the Stone Age

March of the Pigs by NIN just occured to me. Yes that is a bass guitar. It's....wierd. But it's Trent Reznor. Go figure.

Oh, Queens of the Stone Age's "Burn the Witch". Dunno about the bass line, but that song should do it.

Orion-Metallica

But you have to get the dynamics right, or it doesn't work.
Nope, no sig here.
