An interesting, downright insightful read about how technology is affecting our collective psyche and changing the way we interact.

You'd pay to know what you really think.

Unless you think that you weren't really thinking that, then you'd have to think that maybe they didn't know what you were thinking either, then what would you think (other then "I want my damn money back")?

Dood, technology has made my life so much more useful. People who get on and rant about "technology is teh suxors!" get on my nerves so much. Before the advent of computers and the internet blind people had it terrible in comparison.

Because blind people really get a lot of enjoyment out of computers and the internet...

Anyway great article honestly, and I do think he didn't mention a couple of things, like convinience and making our lives easier, but I do agree with the point of him stating that we get more secluded due to technology...its like its driving us to the corner until it destroys us.

We discussed a similar topic in my Mass Comm class a couple of semesters ago and how technology is de-tribalizing civilization and it causes less face to face communication and causes like...social retardation or something. I don't really remember. Neat article.

Ace rebuttal.

Anywho, since I've moved in the past two weeks I've been on the computer nearly 14 hours a day, and it's draining allot of the will I have to do anything.

I can tell it puts me into an odd spot when I stay with my friends over the weekends and such, it's almost changed me, I'm not the excelling social animal I was, but more of a shadow of it :/

I can't way to be back in school.

That article is bs, even when i was social everyday I was miserable because my brain is ****ed.

I try to use doublethink so I think I'm not, but I'm still pretty fucked up.

I agree with the article, in light of things like texting and online chat we have dehumanized a little.

He's right, now let us all continue to waste time surfing the same websites all day regardless.

this definitely applies to some people, but there are also several people that this doesn't. For example, I do spend a lot of time online, but at the same time, I do have good relationships with a good amount of friends, I do deal with annoying people constantly, I do take criticism, I don't have conversations over text, etc.

Everyone who is honest with themselves is miserable. It's just a part of life. When you take your eyes off of yourself and look at other people and make their lives better you escape that. That sounds idealistic and dumb, but I've experienced it to a degree, and yeah it is true.
