I actually think the MT too might do a convincing job seeing as i think their tone is thin and absolutely downright annoying.

Just because they're your favorite bands, doesn't mean you can state them as people having to like them to have a good taste in music. No such thing as "good taste" it's all opinion.

I think Billy Corgan used a Fender Blender
Peavey 5150
Mesa Mark IV
Mesa Single Rectifier (Series 1)
Fender Custom Shop Tonemaster
Roland Microcube

-Whitebox OS 1x12
-Port City OS 1x12

I came up with this kick ass riff on my ukelele when I was 12. Find out two years later, it was smoke on the water. Got my hopes and dreams killed..

Your crappy amp achieved a purposely crappy tone? I'll alert the presses.

Bah big muff is hardly a fuzz.

+1 on any Devi Ever pedals. Superb pedals, deffinately get the crazy fuzziness of muse and rough sound of the pumppkins.
#16
Something that just might pay off is asking someone to builkd a Fuzz Factory clone for you.

Get a little big muff and a proco rat, that should cover it and then some

I think that might be in your price class as well, if not, getting them used definately would be.

Get a fender blender. Expensive but definitely worth it. and a big muff of course. I found that running the big muff over the jekyll and hydes distortion sounds a lot like the tone on siamese dream. just sayin.

Fender Blender will be excellent for the Pumpkins sound, however can be a little over the top, Big Muff is a better choice if you want some less extreme sounds out of it as well. Good luck finding your pedal!
