I think the shirts are kind of ironic... since Guevara was not very fond of capitalism

People who think he was great haven't read enough about him.

I've read three Che biographies, and I still think he's great. I would counter that people who compare him to Hitler should read more about him, instead of taking US anti-Communist propaganda and spouting it out without knowing anything more than he was part of the Cuban Revolution.

He overthrew an existing dictatorship, just as we tried to do with Castro later. The only difference between Che and our government is that he was on the opposite side from us. This makes him "evil" in the US - unless, of course, you actually read about him.

Correction: He went from Cuba to Africa (where he tried to overthrow another government) and then to Bolivia, where he was captured by Bolivian troops being supported by the CIA. He was then summarily executed.

In other words, he was captured and did not kill himself.

It's not about countries getting poorer, it is about the people in the countries. A lot of people have gotten poorer since the 50's, the leaders are richer in many places, but not always the people.

my friend has a shirt with che's face on it, but theres a huge red X on it. I think it's kinda funny, but i wouldn't buy it. I don't care enough about 50's politics to go out of my way to spend $16 to make a statement.

I think this whole Che thing is getting out ouf had...he has T-shirts for godsake. The thing that kills me though is people don't even know who the hell the guy id and just wears a shirt with Che's face on it because its "cool"

I think he had some good ideas, but his methods weren't exactly stellar. then again, what else can you do when all else fails?

Many of the poeple in his country seem to love him, is guess in the end what matters is that the people in your country are behind you (although the same could be said for hitler). I think he could have accomplished a lot if he went about it in a different way.

but like I said, what else can you do when all else fails?

+1. Che had some good ideas, but if you are going to wear a shirt with his face on it you might as well war some Stalin shirts to.

He was an incompetent leader who failed in nearly everything he ever attempted, and was responsible for the execution of countless innocent men, women, and children. I don't believe in hell, but if it exists, its deepest pit is reserved for him.
Someones knowledge of guitar companies spelling determines what amps you can own. Really smart people can own things like Framus because they sound like they might be spelled with a "y" but they aren't.

He was a horrible person that ignorant teenagers see as a symbol for revolution, unaware of the evil that he had done in his life, which includes murdering innocents. Revolution, my ass. Using him as a symbol is no better than using Saddam or bin Laden.

Ohh!Ohh! I have a Stalin shirt! Actually I'm wearing it tomorrow. It says in Russian on the bottom, "Kill the Nazi invaders, long live Mother Russia". It's pretty sweet.

But that's because I actually know a bit more about him than his name and where he's from, unlike kids at my school who can't pronounce Guevara. I don't know enough about Che to be a pseudo-intellectual pompous prick and wear his image on my torso while spouting anti-authority bull****.

And let it be known, I'm not a commie. It'd be hypocritical to declare something like that when you have 3 Ayn Rand books in your immediate view.
