I sometimes use words like "mate", "tosh" and "sod" when I'm on UG, because I know that there are enough international users to get away with it. I'm from the US, and lived here my entire life, but still I sod on. Anyone else guilty?
#2
Well, what you see on UG by me, is how I talk in real life...

EDIT: I also use 'poppycocks', cause I'm cool like that!

I use the occasional "mate," "bloody," and "wanker."

Usually in this sentence:

My mate is a bloody wanker.

Bloody wanker is the sex.

I know because Billy Connelly uses it.

I kind of talk like I do in real life, but with internet-things like BTW and O RLY, and less swearing.

Yup, no one ever gets why I call them a sod. But I think it sounds good as a verb.

I type like I talk, but I have noticed there are a lot of Americans on here that have adopted our words and often our spellings.

I use the word "mate" sometimes. It just sounds so nice and friendly. My dad is English, though (and was brought up in England), so that's my excuse.
