the NME is ****.

none of us could care what any page of it has to say.

ever.

I do believe that NME's shortlisting method involved pooping down the side of the building and using the stains to decide the nominees.

He's one of this generations greatest songwriters, The Libertines were brilliant, and Babyshambles has been getting a lot of hype lately as well. His music is gold!

Are they really the results?!
I saw the other night what I think was best video followed by best band and the nominees were pretty much the same, and the same ****. Its embarassing that it gets televised (and multiple times at that).
Why is G.W. Bush villain of the year?
Ok, everyone hates him, but what did he do last year? Andrew remembers nothing. Conor McNicholas is definitely more deserving.

At least the Guardian seemingly criticised the magazine after the awards saying how lacking in knowledge and diversity it is at the moment.

Not a fan then, Jon?

Someone needs to buyout the NME and give it a proper face lift.

goodbye mr a...seriously NME is such a biased rag it spouts being indie then goes for either northern or faux-working class bands with **** lyrics about drinking and british life in the gutters of sheffield or some other ****hole in the north and lampoons good north american and more middle class british bands, NME has only one use and that's as very expensive toilet paper.

I watched the first fifteen minutes or so of the awards, but left in an angry rage after that announced Lightspeed Champion was performing after the break. I think it would've been interesting to see the Kate Nash/Billy Bragg performance though.

They didn't deserve all they won

Best Video was an outrage, Teddypicker vid? It's just them in the studio and out on the street. I've never really listened to the song, but Justice - D.A.N.C.E. is the best vid of the year.

Also - NME mag may be axed in a couple of months. Record low sales. Bout time they took it off stands

^ Why might it get axed in a couple of months?
Don't get our hopes up because I can't see that being true.

There was an article on it in the Times the other day.

Last year, they sp;d record low copies of 30,000 when the Gallows were on the cover. Poor sales may force them too shut down, but the article was pro-NME.

It used to be a good mag, but now it's ****.
#28
The Times you say?
Might be somewhere in the Sunday Times then, will have to check just incase. Don't care if its pro-NME, because it was once an important mag, if low sales improve the magazine then it can only be a good thing. They've just got to drop the ridiculous hype of **** bands (and generally give the magazine a proper makeover).

What annoys me most about NME is that they'll pick 2-3 bands to back for about 3 years, over promoting them and staying so far up their ass so the bands always win in awards like this.

And everyone is falling for it! ****ing idiots.

As is the case with a band like Monkeys. They're average, in fact REALLY average, but with NMEs backing, they've reached fame.

Then you have terrible bands like Foals in the charts, ergh.

I do buy Nme,
But don't really take it serouisly. Its all ****
Foals were on Tv last night pretty bad performance.

It was an important mag to generations of music fans older than current teens, if it can get back to being a music mag, rather than a pop culture wankfest, maybe it would sell more

You left at the right time.

That performance was awful, like really bad, a pain to sit through
#35
Too bad the NME is the only magazine they sell in Canada that even mentions the British music scene.
Although the Monkeys deserved best band, if you ask me... but no one asked me, so I'll shut up now.
Oh, I'll break them down, no mercy shown,
Heaven knows, it's got to be this time,

That wasn't exactly an outrage, they did have a good year, but a lot of other bands weren't even nominated. Muse (as good as they are), who haven't released an album all year, are up for best band?

ALSO: My Chemical Romance, a band who've released no albums this year are nominated for both Best Band and Worst Band WTF?!

Wow did the NME rape everyone's children or something? They're alright for opening peoples eyes to good bands ;Not the Enemy or The View , but bands like MGMT (best album of the year so far) or the Klaxons, especially in somewhere like the Central Coast in Australia, which doesn't really have a thriving new music scene. Theyre like Conan O' Brian. Good in small doses but completely annoying to listen to all the time. Its fairly simple... dont listen to them all the time. For such a long established British Music institution though (They formed what is now the British Music charts; How Edgy), they do use the word "indie" abit too much not to get on my nerves.
