that was a pretty awful movie but i liked it.

that made sense. Anyway that movie I thought wasn't very good... Very cheesy yet somehow kind of cool at the same time. I lol'd when the main guy is talking to his parents on that huge screen and then a shadow comes over it and his parents say "whats that? that wierd." Oh my god that was so cheesy

Apocalypse Now, The Deer Hunter, The Killing Fields are the best. I thought Letters from Iwo Jima was amazing as well and Band of Brothers was pretty well done.

Yep. I downloaded them all before watching it.
Being able to watch 3 chapters per day (I watched it with my family and we didn't want more than 3 per day) was amazing.
Do you know that the same movie crew is making another one about the war in the pacific? It's going to be broadcasted in one year

best war film

Stalingrad (german version)
Bridge too far
The Longest Day
Henry V (...well I like it)
In which we serve (one of my favourite war films it was made in 1942 and I still love it)

or from the German perspective

Kolberg

it was made in 1944 released in 1945...when there were no cinemas left to show it in and it featured 200,000 german soldiers brought back from the eastern front to play extras (I know insane!) despite the Soviet army nearly having driven the German army out of Russia altogether

EDIT- Also, watch the battle of the Bulge or Waterloo they're both epicly HUGE

We Were Soldiers was decent. The action was good, but the story itself was lacking. Best war movies are Apocalypse Now and Full Metal Jacket. There's something about the Vietnam war that just makes good movies.

edit:
Band of Brothers was sweet. Watched the whole series. I'm not really interested in the pacific front though, so I'm not too excited about the new one.

the main character. i didnt like the main character in FMJ, he was kind of an asshole and i didnt sympathize with him. i liked mel gibsons character even tho i hate his guts in real life.

some of yall r to young but hamburger hill was one hell of a war movie with an awsome cast
and quite accurate for a depiction af the "vietnam conflict" as war was never actually declared but that is a argument for another day
