Hey UG,
this is kind of premature but i will be buying a guitar in august/september but i want to have chosen by then. I will have about 500 USD to spend and most likely a chance that my brother could buy me the guitar in the US.
I am very interested in the following models but some of them i won't have a chance to try out. So i want to hear your opinions. No stupid **** talk about "this guitar is the best i'll kill you if you buy anything else". I just want your opinion backed up with some reasoning.
The choices:

I think the PRS is the best, but since you don't get to play before buying it I suggest reading every review from each guitar Personally I wouldn't pick the Gibson or Epiphone ones.
Have you checked Music-Man guitars? They are pretty awesome as well.

I would choose the DXMG. I have the DKMG (it has the same specs as the DXMG, except with active emg's) and its really good, it has a good fast neck, 24 frets, a reliable floyd rose tremolo (my guitar rarely goes out of tune, even with all the whammy bar abuse i give it) if you set it up correctly (which isn't that hard). With a pickup switch the guitar would be really awesome.

The music is anywhere from general rock (foghat, deep purple, nirvana) to metal. But i prefer mainly metal.... so yeah...
I like the look and feel of PRS guitars but the only ones sold here are Stagg copies...

washburn sb15, sb10 or sb20 are all good guitars that play well, good for small gigs, easy to maintain and sound pretty good for all music.

I'd go with eather the Epi lespaul or the single cut version of that PRS.

bouth good in quality and the single cut is really light.
