michael angelo batio used to play a quad neck guitar...
although 5 necks is a bit of overkill dont you think?

Besides, his guitar had 2 on each side... I can't even IMAGINE playing that...
Signature? What's a signature?

i cant really think of anything more pointless then having several different tunings on one guitar...

maybe having 2... one tuning for chords say an open tuning, and then one in standard for soloing...

but 5??

That would be this one:

Also, the 5 neck has been done before by Hamer:

And my absolute favourite:

Erm how do you play the bottom neck?

With effort and hard, honest, work!

Or if that doesn't do the trick, really long arms (and I mean Paul Gilbert long).

I guess a normal person would need that guitar strapped up to their armpits to be able to reach some of the lower necks.

The company who made that guitar is complying with the Americans with Disabilities Act, assuming it's an American company or a company selling in the US.

After all, there are guitarists with 5 pairs of arms ... rare, but they're there ... most are shy. Duh!

He played it on the show. Failed and was saved by I believe Peter Frampton.

This is UG, we love Schecters and Ibanez and Jacksons, we hate Deans and BCR's, we hate Marshall MG's, and everyone needs a new amp.

All of these replies and nobody's mentioned Cheap Trick yet?

I know, right? Rick Nielsen cannot suffice with a mere 4 guitars. He NEEDS 5. Anyway, I hear that after playing these things over the years he's gotten major back problems and can't play one for more than a few minutes at a time now .

The bottom neck never gets tuned, apparently

The point of 3 6 strings?

I'm pretty sure one's in drop D, one's standard, and one's in an open tuning. At least, that's how I remember Rick Nielsen's being.
