I've heard the shredmaster is great, but I've never played one. I have used the TS9 and as a boost its alright. I'm looking into getting the DOD overdrive 250. Its only $40 and you can easily mod it to vintage "grey" specs supposedly.

playing by yourself is like masturbating, sure it feels great, but it's nothing compared to the real deal.

Boss Super Overdive SD-1

+1. The lead guitarist in my band uses one. Very good for the price.

i've used a MXR ZW-44 (borrowed it from a friend) at some gigs with a metalband, and with a bluesband.... And I was surprised it sounded both great

I own a Boss SD-1, but I think I'm gonna buy a ZW-44 (besides the sd-1, I ain't gonna sell it) just because in my opinion I was more satisfied with the ZW-44 than with my SD-1...

In the early Black Label Society-days Zakk himself used an SD-1, but after this sig came out, he uses it all the time to give extra punch to his solo's.... but when you completely leave the overdrive-work for the pedal, it's also pretty cool
