Last night... while tracking at a friends studio.... the custom 24 PRS that I have loved and played for over 10 years broke in my hands.... while tracking, so I can relive this horrific event over and over thanks to the recording.

I am, not gentile with my guitar when playing, I like to "hit" it to get different tones from it... and years of abuse had its toll I guess. It broke right where the neck meets the body... The neck just lunged forward leaving bits of splintered neck behind.

I am trying to glue it back now, but I fear the worst.

Your crappy amp achieved a purposely crappy tone? I'll alert the presses.

If we did tune using the 5th fret on the G string it'd be a C. At the moment it goes G B which stands for George Bush. So obviously GB doesn't want you to C the truth! To the conspiracy cave!

the guitar's beyond repair, it'll never be playable again.
send it to me, i'm an undertaker.
#21
Sorry guys... no pics... I was too distraught and forgot pics... It is now in a clamp letting the glue dry... I really hope this works...

I will get the copy of the recording and post soon...

I don't bend the neck... that is what the trem is for. I broke when I hit the body of the guitar with a closed fist. I guess 10 plus years of beating up my guitar made it finally break.

I think the CE series has a bolt on neck.

Also, that's a pretty hardcore playing you got there with the whole fist-to-neck style.

You Dummy....Custom 24's are Set Necks...not bolt ons...bolt ons are the CE models....

CE models---about $2000
CU models---about $3000

Big difference there bud....I don't see any $4000 priced guitar there...unless of course you're talking about the Semi-Hollowbody II's or the 513's.

I find it hard to believe you can actually rip a neck out of the joint, especially with a PRS style set neck joint. Maybe hitting it for 10 years would put that kind of stress on it. I guess if its possible for neck through guitars to have the wings come off from hanging off a strap. (Gibson firebirds/thunderbirds incase you were wondering)

I know, someone suggested that the OP buy a bolt neck.

Ten years of hitting a guitar will do that. Your own fault really.

Guess you have to buy a new one .
