1. Obtain sheet music. You usually have to pay for this.
2. Read the sheet music at tempo, with a metronome. Don't stop for mistakes. If you make too many mistakes, return to step 1 but with easier music. If you don't make mistakes, return to step 1 but with harder music.


While there are very good sight-reading books for guitar it is easier to find clarinet studies and they suit the guitar's range very well.
