Is the LPB-1 a transparent overdrive? I just want an overdrive that will add gain without adding its own color. It seems like it is one.. just a power booster.

Electric - you plug it into a power outlet in the wall and the music comes from little speakers in the guitar.

I've heard it's pretty dark sounding (in a good way) so you may want to look for something else.

It's stereo amp, and I don't think it's tube. However, for a stereo amp, it is very good. Don't plug guitar into it; just use it as hi-fi if it works.

Cool, the MicroAmp is exactly what I'm looking for. Thx

I liked the EHX LPB1 because it didn't seem to color the sound, but it does provide a big boost which will cause the amp to overdrive sooner.

It's not an overdrive, and it's not transparent. Great for the money, though.

its not really transparent, but I really like the sound I get out of it, and it really sounds amazing with slight breakup on the clean channel

It's not transparent, but I'd take mine over an OD.
