My girlfriend and I and going to Chicago for spring break. We are leaving early morning Tuesday and coming back late night Thursday, so that's a bit less than 3 whole days there. I was wondering if anyone here has been there. Any places you recommend we see while we are there? any advice in general about visiting Chicago would be appreciated.

Too cold to go now. It's nice to stroll down on the pier though, or go to the museums/aquariums, go to a tall building or something.

Good for you. Have a cookie.

But really... there's no cookie. And if there was, you wouldn't get one.

Yes, i live right above Chicago.

One thing you need to know is how to read your maps, Chicago is very confusing when it comes to roads and where you need to get to, also lots of transportation options, from trains, trollys, taxi's, the L, and buses. Dont be afraid to ask if your headed in the right direction, but you might get a mean reply, so just pick some nice looking people.

Make sure you keep an eye on all your belongings, and watch out for homeless people, they like to hide around corners and sit on the ground so when you walk you trip over them, and then you'll have to wash your shoe's.

bring money cause everythings more expensive there.

Do not believe The Onion.

And some good places to visit are...
The art museum
Millenium Park (No link to Star Wars)
Brookfield Zoo
Navy Pier is fun
and if you love music, theres Tower Records, Virgin Records, and i think Rolling Stones.
Call ahead and you can get tickets to watch the Jerry Springer show, alway a blast to watch dysfunctional people try to make sense of their lifes.

Ill think of more.

Lurking for part of the first day. Museums, the aquarium, and the navy pier planned for the 2nd day. Spending what money we have left the 3rd day before we go home.
We need things to fill the first and 3rd day there

It's basically been mentioned, but hit up the Art Institute of Chicago. There are some amazing pieces there.

Also, eat at Italian Village (seriously) and maybe hit up the Field Museum.

Chicago is a very cool city, but like others said, the traffic is repulsive. The Art Museum is amazing, it has my all time favorite painting (The Guitarist by Piccasso). Also, cops there are assholes. DO NOT f*ck with them.
