No, I honestly don't think he would have.

The man was a drugged-up crazy person who liked to throw up on things, but he still had more taste than that
On vacation from modding = don't pm me with your pish

Nah, he would of thought it was taking it too far. Its not real music, and all his music was about expression and energy. Sure, techno has the energy but it has no expression.

WRONG.

The only reason it exists is because drugs get people fucked up, and people love getting fucked up.

I think he would have. He seemed to like pushing the limit of music, which techno seems to do.

They should of had FL Studio back then.

Whoop, did it again.

And no, he'd probably like music that has emotion in it, as opposed to music which made for people to dance to and (probably) have sex to.

I dunno if he would have or not. I'm sure he would have been open minded enough to listen to it.

I voted yes because all dead people love to dance.

He'd probably like it while on E, which he probably would try.

So I said yes.

Jimi liked a lot of different types of music. Might not of been his style or what he would of listened to, but i'm sure he would respect it some what.

OOOO i get it. Are you one of those grammer Nazies?

No, I just listened in school.

How much longer does it take to spell a sentence out properly, so that it doesn't make people around here (most of UG can actually write... this isn't youtube) cringe inside? What, 5 seconds?

It's 'Nazis', by the way. And I don't see how not liking my language being butchered makes me a member of the defunct German National Socialist party.

Yeah, I point you to your posts so far.

And indeed the topic of this thread... open-minded he may have been, but techno? Nah.

Yes he would have liked it.
The sounds of the electric guitar were not considered "music" back in his time either.
He totally would understand the concept behind electronic music.
Pushing auditory boundaries and exploring new sounds.

And the drug culture that came with it.

He would have liked it on all accounts.

EDIT: I also think he'd be amazed that electric guitar is now so mainstream that some of the kids who play it are so close-minded to think that drugs are the devil and that techno isn't "music".

I hate this misconception. What makes you think a genre has less 'expression' than another? You're completely wrong.

The range of expression in Techno is limited when compared to that of most other music...

Care to elaborate?

What do you mean by 'range of expression'? How do you compare it?
#33
I think he would have liked some of it, based on song or artists, but I don't think he's enjoy the entire genre just because of the genre. Have fun with that grammar.

And to Meh!: Dude, he liked Cream. He shows bad taste from time to time.

I mean that it's rare to find (in any case commercial) dance/techno (they the same? prove me wrong...) music which contains a topic matter not related to sex. And that, for that matter, lyrics and feelings are of 2nd importance to how danceable a particular track is.

You're right, sir. It's almost impossible for a song like "Iambic 9 Poetry" or "The Modern Bass Guitar" to come anywhere near as close to being an artistic statement like, "Party on your Pussy."

Scrap the 'danceability' so to say, it's irrelevant. Just like the topic matter.

Why would a piece of music need topic matter to have a 'higher range of expression"?

Music doesn't have integrated feelings.

Sure, different music can incite different feelings, but is it not all in the listener?

And how can you bash on a whole genré if it's mainstream is about nothing but sex and doesn't contain topic matter.
