when you guys say sg necks are thinner
and have neck dive?

what do you mean by that?
is it a big problem?
is it reallly common?

The necks are pretty big, actually.

The body is thinner.

Neck dive means that the guitar is poorly balanced; the headstock is heavy so it needs to be held up otherwise it drops (unless you have a good strap).

^I'd let a pro look at it. Once you get into the technicalities of screws...well, it's just a place you don't want to be, friend.

No ... you'll be holding the neck the whole time time you're playing. And as FUA mentioned, a good strap will serve you well. Get one of those beasts.
