Ok, I'm in the process of deciding on parts for my guitar that I want to build. Its a les paul-esque shape with a single humbucker in the bridge and 1 volume pot. I have little to no knowledge of electronics so installing everything will be something... different. Anyways, what do capacitors do and will I need any? The actual build is a couple months away, but I want to get a start on the parts now before school starts taking up too much of my time.
If you don't have a tone knob, then you will not need a capacitor. But basically they pass treble frequencies easier than bass frequencies.
thanks man, thats all i needed to know.
If you really are a beginner at electronics, check out the schematics on Seymour Duncans website.
yeah, i've looked at them but i've heard that SD use different coloured wires to most manufacturers?
