www.myspace.com/ukarcane

We're all from Bournemouth, UK
Been together as this line-up for about 9/10 months
I'm the vocalist
I'm 17
The other guys are 15/16, and our drummers 13 XD

But anyways, we've recently recorded our new e.p

have a listen on the myspace and let me know what you think...

I'd be really interested to hear what actual musicians make of it haha.

Cheers

Ian

excuse my french but holy **** dogtown has some killer riffs in it.

*jaw drops*

as for the vocals, I dislike the grungy death metal growling crap. The clean vocals are really nice though.

Why the hell does every modern thrash band have to have screaming/growling in it, is there that little vocal talent around? Some killer riffs but not a fan of the vocalist, going by Dogtown + the Conscript

Mmm, I hear where you're coming from.
Tbqh I'm not so happy with how the screamings come out but meh
And, in the stuff we're currently writing
We're experimenting with more clean vocal harmonies
much less screaming.

One thing I've been considering, is maybe developing a sort of rob flynn style vocal, like, rough singing, to accompany the clean sung stuff and so replace the screaming

but we'll have to see =]

Cheers for everyones comments so far btw =]

Yeah, if you get the chance, re record 'Dogtown' with less.....Banshee vocals. Normally singing its rather good, cause i hear many bands that are musically good but when they sing it sound like it should be on Panic at the Disco or something.
You should definately let me download it XD... If not then is there somewhere to get the songs? lol

Um, we'll be selling the E.P before too long :P
And we're perfectly happy to send it out to wherever haha

it'll only be a couple of quid

We just really need to make back some of the money spent on recording
Coz we spent a loaddd on it haha
But once we've got artwork and stuff sorted out
I'll post a thread or something saying they're for sale
haha

Ah right. Im in Kent, so I'll probably notice it if you get it for sale in Musicianshop.com in Bluewater lol.
I just added your band on myspace (Callum Wills) so i'll be looking forward to seeing what else your band does.

Ahhh, I'd never heard of that, but have just had a look and looks handy.

Will definitely try to get listed there (Y)

Sweet one man

Cheers =]

Lol how did you come about writing 'Dowtown' and the other songs. Cause some of them riffs are indeed killer. Espcially in Dowtown at 0:27-0:40. I love that lol. Also what made you wanna do the Banshee salute (screaming)?
#13
Umm, I dunno tbqh
I write the odd riff, but most of them are come up with by the guitarists
They just sit at home most of the day and write haha
but yeah
i dunno
well
tbh, to start off with
we were a metalcore band
if you watch the videos on the page of the older songs
you'll see what i mean
so i was brought in originally as the screamer
but then they realised I could sing as well
So I started doing that as well haha

Mmm, ridiculous
He came 12th in young drummer of the year
But tbf that was merely playing the drums to dogtown XD
And hes gotten so much better recently haha
maybe next year haha

Love it, just get rid of those growling vocals and work on improving your cleans.

That was nice. The screaming fits there, but I suggest you to look for the Zen of Screaming by Melissa Cross. It's awesome.

But your songs, There are amazing riffs and melodies. Retribution was nothing special, sorry to say that. Dogtown was simply amazing.

But look for the Zen of Screaming. Should help your vocals.

Have to say, you're great.

**** yeah, thats the way to go!
#30
Props to your drummer for only being 13! I liked Dogtown wasn't so keen on Retribution and The Conscript but my favourite was Fiesta of Tranny that song was beatiful. Keep up the good work.
#31
mmm, I have looked at zen o screaming before
and it did really help

The problem i
The one thing I havent mastered yet
Is screaming in the studio
Live
it's fine
It's one of those things that just flows naturally
and I know I'm doing i correctly from the air flow etc.
But screamng in the studio is completely different to live
coz you don't have all the adrenalne etc.
so I still need to work on that =/ haha

but yeah

Thank you so much for all the positive feedback guys

I find it funnthat out of te songs off the new e.p
the most popular is dogtown

And that, out of those, is the first we wrote haha

but yeah
Rob Flynn's voice is he sex =]

haha

We'll have to see how it develops i guess

But please, keep the feedback coming!
