So, i was checking amps and found this JCM800KK of Kerry Kings, and then i checked integrated Beast mode, damn it, i love this distortion, any ideas how can i achieve same distortion sound with my gear + buying some pedals/effects? is it possible?
thanks.

that noise gate is sweet! if you're going to be playing with that much gain, you will definitely want to pick one of those up.

how is the JCM800KK different from how your amp sounds? like, what is it that you want to change? if this amp is REALLY the sound you want, i say bite the bullet and watch the used market.

well, how about

http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/MXR-M108-Ten-Band-Graphic-EQ?sku=151115

that. its the 10 band EQ that King uses (he actually has his own signature model of this, but the only difference being stereo outs and $20). i read in a Guitar World interview with him that he actually uses a crazy mid boost on that EQ ('Shaped like a frown, because you cant smile while playing METAL.' )

maybe an overdrive pedal to get more gain out of your amp? EMG 81 in the bridge of your guitar? see what Kerry uses in his live set up, because this amp is modeled to emulate that.

:edit: i see you have the 81/85 set. never mind that then.

he uses a EMG PA2 Gain Booster on his guitar to acheive that high gain too.

Yeah, got 81 in bridge, but with distortion i prefer EMG 85...dunno why, sound is more heavier or something...

it's alright. Does the job I want it to, though it does suck some tone, you'd probably be better getting an ISP Decimator. To be honest I went for the Boss because I was on a budget and needed a noise gate.
To sum up if you can afford it go for the ISP, but if you're like me and need to penny pinch the NS-2 is good too.
