Both are floating.

The edgeIII uses knife poitns and the ZR works on a ball bearing pivot.

In all ways the ZR is better than the Edge 3

S7320 is insane, but the pickups aren't that great, also it only has 22 frets. I don't know if you care about that though. The ZR is a dream, it stays in tune all the time, apparently it doesn't the notes don't go as far as OFR though but it's amazing. It's really light too, compared to my Les Paul.

S series all the way mate. Cant compare really.

The reason the ZR doesnt have as much range doesnt have to do with the bridge itself, its because of the body, its so thin that the cavity cant physically be any bigger.

SV has no ZR trem. It's a fixed kinda ZR trem.

For 24 frets and ZR-like trem, you have to get the Herman Li Sig.

Well the Zr is more user friendly and should last longer than the Edge 3 unless you brake the arm holder on the ZR.

What.

SV doesn't have any "fixed kinda ZR". It has a non-locking Vintage style ball-bearing trem that has a floating/dive-only switch. If you put it to dive-only and tighten the trem spring a couple turns too many, it will be tense enough to behave as a stoptail would.

For 24 frets and ZR trem, you have to get the S5470, while the Li sig has a fulcrum trem.

And the functional difference between EIII and ZR is in the way they pivot, which is a big reason why ZR is more reliable than EIII.

I say the edge pro On the ZR trem its been known to have a bad (Breakable) arm and the screws are cheap and strip easily. the Edge Pro has had an almsot flawless track record that i know of. On the other hand the ZR has a self intonation tool and all the cool stuff at the back.

Out of all the ibanez bridges in construction today, I'd say that the Edge Zero looks to be the best. It doesn't have a track record yet but it has the sturdiness of the edge with all the cool bits of the ZR in one bridge. If i were to buy an Ibanez, to would be one with an Edge Zero

Basically, the ZR has the ability to be locked as a stoptail, both are indeed a floating trem its down to personal opinion. If you have been playing the old school ibanez you are accustomed to the older trems which would be Lo pro, or Lo pro Edge etc then you will probably prefer them. However i've played a guitar with a ZR trem for quite a while, and it took the beatings i gave it very well

No, it does not have anything like that. Where do you get those ideas?

Happened with my ZR too. It was really sucks. Though I got it fixed. But I just sold it yesterday and going to by myself a rg550 with gold hardware. Just sharing. After I experienced that with my ZR trem, I don't like ZR trem anymore.
