Yeah Muddy Waters is great, he's always been one of those guys though that I really should listen to more often than I actually do. He played a Tele too so that makes him even better in my books!

Lately I've been doing Hoochie Coochie Man on acoustic a lot at sessions/jams.

There's loads of great videos of Muddy live on YouTube.

He was a man among men
#13
He was a great, very influential musician, but, like Carswell, I have a hard time really getting into his music. I love the way he plays and sings, but he has just never been one of my favorites. What a great musician though, no one can deny that.

Muddy is the absolute man, you have to hear his live stuff if you are underwhelmed by his studio stuff.

I got my MOJO WORKIN!
#15
I get overwhelmed by the sheer manliness. It makes me want to drink a fifth of bourbon, smoke some reefer, and grab the nearest big asses woman and have my way with her.
#16
I've got a Muddy Waters live album, but it doesn't say anything about the performance... when it was from, who was playing. It kind of annoys me, but the performances are awesome! It's got my favorite version of Baby, Please Don't Go.

check out the cd of him and his band backing big mama thornton. crazy awesome

Do you have any f****** idea what you are talking about?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?

I'm a huge Muddy fan (check out my name). My favorite album is Folk Singer. Get the remastered version. Great guitar work by Buddy Guy and bass by Howlin Wolf. Production and sound are excellent

Any of the stuff like Hard Again, produced by Johnny Winter on the Blue Skye label are great. The mixes are a little thick but Muddy's in fine form.

My favorite live album is a bootleg called Got My Hoochie Coochie Workin'.

All bow down to Muddy

I love Muddy Waters. Amazing musician and an incredibly influential person.

Oh, and for some shameless, semi off-topic bragging, I met and got to take a guitar class from Bob Margolin. He said he liked my playing.

I like Folk Singer, Electric Mud, and the Woodstock album. He's definately not overrated, he has an honorary street in Chicago.

Gotta love Muddy, and definitely pick up some live stuff. I have Muddy Waters Blues Band, but I think blues in general is just way better live no matter who it is.

Has anyone of you guys ever played the Muddy Waters Telecaster? What's it like? I'd like one of those, or the Buddy Guy Polkadot Strat.

I never even knew it existed

Also, Buddy Guy's guitar is sweet
