I recently gotta ibanzez electric acoustic and I just changed the strings on it
I tried Martin the first time, but i popped a few, so i went and picked up some dean markley

now, the 1st and 2nd string both make a weir, of pitch, popping sounds around the 3rd fret or any other note really

are these really crappy strings or did i do something wrong in changing them please help..thanx

Your use of the word "popping" confuses me. Does it sound like buzzing, or like the strings slap against the frets?

Potentially the 3rd fret could need to be re-glued in.

well... i had that same problem once with my electric guitar, i fixed it by adjusting some of the things on the bridge. a friend had the same problem with his acoustic and i put a folded piece of paper under the strings on the bridge and it got rid of the sound.
the sound is probably caused because the strings are too loose.
maybe its not tuned?

soulnd like they are slippiing.
retune and when they finish stretching that will stop.
Either that or they are strung incorrect.

Can you explain this please?

In any case, i recommend having a look at a string changing tutorial, theres heaps on the net.
