What are the best ways to get some really chunky pick attacks? You know, useful for starts of solos and slow, sensitive playing. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. I know about letting the pick glide over 2-3 muted strings before hitting the initial note, and making a small pick scrape along the string as you pick.

But are there other techniques?

a more subtle(and I think nice) pick scrape sound can come from picking the notes with your pick and at a near 90degree angle a la Paul Gilbert
