Why havn't anybody tried this yet? Aside from Rebel vs Rebel, i haven't seen much to it. Think Waylon Jennings metal, it would be awesome, the best of two worlds!

The closest thing I can think of is Shooter Jennings. :\

Could be interesting, potentially, as long as you mean good country. None of that Toby Kieth or Travis Tritt nonsense.

Well, we've got Bible metal...

I think Jazz metal would be interesting. Opeth is the closest thing yet, but it's not improvisational enough.

I want to hear some really tight bad ass metal that's also a total jam.

I dunno about country metal, but there are southern rock and metal bands like Maylene and the Sons of Disaster, or Blackfoot, who went back and forth between metal and southern rock.
