ok i been playing for awhile, and was just wondering, when ever you slide your fingers across the strings lets say playing power chords or sumthnig, is it suppose to make that scratching/schreeching sound. if not, what can i do technique wise to stop it thanx.

Yeah, thats one of the unavoidable things. I play with actives, and you just have to practice alot to get less of the sound. Oh, and just lift your fingers higher, or if you're just resting your fingers on the strings, make sure you DONT do that.

My things:

Washburn WG587
Washburn X40Pro

You might also invest in some finger-ease. It cuts down on that scratching sound, and lubricates the strings, making sliding easier
Send this to you my master...
Here's to getting worse,
hope it kills you faster...
Show me how it hurts to rot from the inside out...
This vigil burns until the day our fires over take you,
Our father we forsake you.
