I just wanted to piggyback on this great article I saw the other day. I couldn't find it again and wanted to start my own. Please rate my setup, I've worked long and hard for it and am quite proud of it. Please tell me about your setup as well and send pics if you can. I'm one of those guys who always admires what I don't have.

1958 VOS Goldtop Gibson Les Paul
Dean "The Dean From Hell" CFH (with a Bill Lawrence 500 XL)
Schecter Hellraiser C-7
Soldano Avenger 100W
Marshall 1960 Lead Cab
Boss TU-2
Boss NS-2
BBE Sonic Maximizer *always on*
MXR EVH Flanger *hardly ever use*
Picks- Dunlop USA 0.52mm

Go into as much detail with your setup as you'd like. As you can see, mine is pretty straightforward.

nice setup bdof, i give it a 9 only because it's not as versatile as i would want it to be for me.

Mine is this for now:

Fender Standard Tele MIM
Digitech Whammy W4
Ibanez WD7 Weeping Demon Wah
Rocktron Banshee Talkbox
Line 6 PODX3 Live

Sennheisser 803 Vocal Microphone
Peavey 600 watt power mixer
2 x 15in Peavey Speakers

And i'll be adding this probably this year:
Epiphone Silverburst Les Paul
B-52 AT112 Tube Combo Amp
Boss FV500H or something like that...it's a volume pedal
ISP Decimator

And mods for my guitars:
Tele - 2 kilsswitches (1 push/pull, 1 off/on switch), Fender Cobalt Noiseless pickups, stainless steel pickguard
Les Paul - 1 killswitch (push/pull), and probably new pickups as well

Obviously just whoring your rig here.

You can have a 8/10, due to the lack of Single Coils and my anti-boss elitism :P:

For me...

Fender CIJ Jag
->
MXR Dyna Comp
Catalnibread Silverkiss OD
EHX/Sovtek Big Muff RI
Vox V847a
EHX Nano Stone
EHX Small Clone
-> Laney VC
FX Loop ->
Marshall Echohead
EHX Holy Grail

I'm getting there.

BTW, those are probably going to be the only Boss pedals I'll ever own due to 1) the Price, and 2) How well they work in that field for the price
#10
Great, i've been skipped

I'd say 6 or 7 out of 10 at best. Soldano's really work much better through different cabs IMO. There's one nice guitar and a nice amp, but everything else just isn't doing it for me. The effects are what I'd call subpar considering some of the other gear. Also the amp is fantastic, but for the fact that it's a single channel with no effects loop and virtually no hope of getting any usable cleans out of it. I definitely think the rig has a lot of potential, but as it stands I don't see anything that would make my head turn, sonically or visually.

But then again, if it works for you, then why should you care what we think.

Ah, as I would expected. Yes, improving to a Soldano Cab would make a great difference, the fact that it is a single channle amp doesn't mean it isn't versitile. The greatest of the past all used singel channel amps. You have to make it versitile yourself. Owning a s/c amp has improved my playing because it's taught me the sheer importance of guitar vol, where to strum on the strings, how hard to strum, when to switch to another pichup, and most importantly that the amp doesn't always sound best with the gain a 10! Not to mention if I wanted versitilty I would get a great distortion(one that doesn't affect the amps tone so much) or an OD pedal and push it through the Low Gain setting. THAT is the versitility of this amp.
#21
Not really, I got my amp and payed half off my guitar myself. The pedals are just gifts ive gathered over the years off relatives. Except the catalinbread I payed half off too. Yeah im pretty lucky my parents buy me crap, but i didnt just sit on my ass to get all of it.

The hotbar should be floating parallel to the principle axis at this point. Next, take a hammer, and beat yourself in the face while crying JIHAD. problem fixed.

Still working on it, thinking about getting a delay and maybe a volume swell pedal.

I've always found the ds-1 to be lacking despite all the fuzz about it. That and your amp.
