Hey guys, I think this is the best forum for this. I did a search but nothing to good came up so...

A mate and I are setting up a three piece covers band just for a laugh really, playing at some parties and stuff in the near future. We're looking for tunes that would be good for parties, can be performed by a three piece and are going to be able to be sung and played on guitar at the same time (by me!).

So yeah, fire away suggestions! Atm, thinking about some White Stripes, Fratellis and something by Muse. Maybe some pop punk

EDIT: Check Page 2 for current list

A lot of Sum 41 can be covered with only one guitar because generally Deryck just does vocals while Dave would play rhythm parts... and during choruses and bridges the rhythms are just double a lot of the time or there will be some minor lead parts that no one would really notice if they werent there!

Also, some Wolfmother, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin... really anything that only has one guitar or if two guitars with little or no lead.

Definitely Not Teen Spirit

Agreed.

Also, B182 and old Green Day sound pretty good. So does the Police.

Keep em coming people

If you do ever manage to do some Police and get it recorded, i'd appreciate it if you dropped me a line, 'cause i'd love to hear it.

The problem with stuff like Zeppelin is that I need to be able to play the guitar part whilst singing which is pretty difficult with most Zepp stuff

People, especially people with pussies, love fall out boy. Seriously, if you did a couple of their songs you'd be a hit.

^ I doubt it. The parties we'd be playing at would be for our mates and they all hate F.O.B.

Just to add some 3-piece bands you could consider...

Stereophonics
Feeder
Manic Street Preachers

Grand Funk Railroad.

come on, bring back the 70s.

That's such a great idea!

Also, Feeder is definitely going to be done, not Buck Rogers one of the others

So far the list looks like this:
(in no particular order)

All The Small Things - Blink182
All My Life - Foo Fighters
Icky Thump - White Stripes (or something off Elephant)
Longview - Green Day
Chealsea Dagger or Henrietta - Fratellis

Also wanna do something by:
Offspring
Muse
Feeder
The Police
Nirvana (maybe)

Also, something really really funky, like Grand Funk Railroad
