what do the different control knobs on the amp actually do? mine has treble, middle, bass, boost, gain, and volume.

now, i know what volume and gain do, and i'm somewhat sure i know what the boost does, but what exactly do the treble, middle and bass controls do?

Treble - Higher end of the frequency

Mid - take a wild guess

Bass - Lower end of the frequency

makes it sound more bassy or trebely

i usually just turn all three up to 10, but the other day i turned the mid down to 0 and left the treble and bass at 10, and it sounded heavier. so technically i just turned down the middle frequency?

Yes.

Pretty much, but some amp's middle and treble knobs actually affect each other, turning mids down increases high and so on.

Admittedly, i would NEVER turn my mids to 0, but that's your own choice. If you're playing with others though, you will not cut through at all
