Yes, sometimes I do just... stop caring.
The will to neither strive nor cry,
The power to feel with others give.
Calm, calm me more; nor let me die
Before I have begun to live.

-Matthew Arnold

Arguments are to be avoided; they are always vulgar and often convincing.

Sometimes, yeah but it isn't healthy in the long run.

You don't do anything, can't be bothered to go to university/school you don't get the grades.

I agree, i always help people up. At the last show we all protected this little kid who was tying his shoe in the middle of the pit.

Your lack of caring is probably linked to the fact that your parents never gave you proper discipline when you were growing up.

That happened to me last year when me and my girlfriend broke up.
I stopped going to school and basically sat at home each day.

And then it turns out that i didn't pass year 9 BAHAHAA.

SO START CARING!!

I'm a big time procrastinist as far as education goes. Now only have I done it my whole life..I also do it now, and I am studying for a degree in computer networking. I got decent grades in semester 1 so I will continue to work like this because to be honest I have the same problem. I don't care about University. I don't care about life. I just wish I was never born *crys*

I would consider excessive discipline to be improper. I don't think Floydian is right in making that assumption though, since there are billions of things that go on in everyone's life . . .

I have thought about it lately, I'm going through a huge rough spot in my life as well, but you just have to remember that tomorrow will come and you'll have to get up and go do what you have to do. It's just the way things work, I mean I have to go see my ex tomorrow, and I'll be schedguling therapy sessions for a while tomorrow, but it's what I have to do, it's just the way life is.

Too much discipline is still not proper discipline. Just cause I said your parents lack at giving proper discipline shouldn't suggest they don't do it at all...

Clinical depression, party of one!

You could talk to your parents and maybe improve the situation. Or you could write a message to a million people you don't know for ambiguous interpretations of your situation. Either way - what you are doing is reaching out.

Now like I tell my friends in the 3-D world. Suck it up & deal with it. The more you f*ck up your life the more your life will be f*cked up. It is just that simple.

Get a job, make some cash and create some self esteem.

Yeah, you're right. The inability to care about certian things shouldn't always be linked to discipline. I didn't happen to look at that kid's age, and when I did, I realized thats pretty normal for a kid that age to be apathetic. There are some things in life that I don't care about too, though it doesn't involve school and getting into trouble with parents. I guess it was just an impulse to assume lack of proper discipline because his reasons for not caring about things differ from mine.

Sounds like true depression. Depression isn't just sadness and whiny BS. It comes with loss of interest, loss of motivation, and a disconcern for said losses. It's no good. Talking to someone helps.

Lol. A long, long time ago.

But then, I don't have to worry about small things like being banned from movies; more like just finding work, loosing my education and future, you know. I suppose it's easy not to care.
#34
I stopped caring a while ago. All the bull**** isn't worth. I'm just having a good time and whatever happens, happens.
#35
Yeah I was the same way in high school ts, I skipped all my classes and spent all my money on pot lol. You'll regret it later.

Seriously though. It's called depression. Every teenager goes through it.

You just gotta roll with the punches and make it through. I wish there was some other kind of advice I could give you, but you really have to pull yourself out of it.

Call some friends up and go do something. Anything. Stupid stuff, dangerous stuff. Whatever. Something to make you feel alive.

Edit: Or! You could go into the You Laugh You Lose thread. That always cheers me up.

Yes, its amazing. Im a highschool dropout for a few days (getting re-enrolled), my parents have given up on me, along with my dads frustration of how 'someone so smart can be so ****ing lazy'. I havent talked to anyone in two days, madly depressed and slowly turning back into a pill head. After realizing I could just move out (one more year, and they can legally kick me out), I then realize im flat broke, with no educational diploma, and no where to go.

You should really start caring.
