My thoughts about 5 minutes ago when i first heard "eruption" by Van Halen. I had heard alot about it so i downloaded it. WTF!

This is a turning point for me. Best **** ive heard in pretty much forever. Any suggestions on other songs similiar to this, or at least that give the over 65 age group and their cats heart attacks at the sound of them.

Wait... you JUST heard Eruption? Where do you live? Under a rock?
ok, yeah. my name is silly because I signed up when I was 13.

+1 I just finished learning how to play this, and I feel godly now.

EDIT: And yes, Eruption isn't that amazing.

Super Colossal.

Teenagers- MCR

You know, teenagers scare the living **** out of them.
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools

you JUST heard eruption? have you been in a POW camp since Vietcong or something?

go listen to Speed Metal Symphony. its more on the speed metal side obviously though. still pretty awesome.

Satch Boogie - Joe Satriani

Blue Powder - Steve Vai

Cliffs of Dover - Eric Johnson

Blitzkrieg - Yngwie Malmsteen

That all give you that "holy **** I have found jesus" feeling.

He lives in Labrador, close enough.

Try some stuff by Eric Johnson, a couple of people have already said Cliffs of Dover so you should check out more of his stuff. Some Yngwie Malmsteen might suit you too.

you do know that its not really a solo?

it was EVH warming up and just happened to be recorded and released on a record.
And we will send you to whatever God you wish...

No, it was his warm up and the recording/executive whatever dude thought it was cool, had him record it. it wasn't a coincidence that the recording equipment was on.

man johnsons other work never gets credit, cmon guys, Manhattan, Righteous, East Wes, SRV, Pavilion (prob better than CoD in my opinion), Zap, or even Trademark. Its sad when only people know of Cliffs (guitar hero )
dude, what about an actual solo in death metal instead of that poof from linkin park. Think of Pulse of the Maggots - Bed Of Razors

Although I find Van Halen and Eruption to be COMPLETELY overrated now, I felt the same way when I first heard it and even more when I saw it live.

The ending to White Walls

Is the best thing I have ever heard. Ever. It's like hearing EruptionX29999999 from all instruments at once. An unholy orgasm that can fill far away planets in a matter of seconds.
No exaggeration. My favorite pants are destroyed, and thats why Pluto's not a planet anymore.

To all the people saying "You only JUST heard it?" remember, there was once a time that you only just heard it.

TS, if I may suggest, check out "War of the Angels" by Rusty Cooley, "Technical Difficulties" by Racer X, or "Autumn Lords" by Tony MacAlpine. Also, as has been previously posted, "Cliffs of Dover" by Eric Johnson.

Do something else, like get laid, get drunk, take a walk, get a job, get a girlfriend, make some food, etc.
Poor advice.

Personally, i'd buy her a can of Coke, then as she's drinking it say to her "Whats better than Coca Cola?" She'll go "What?" and you shout "CREAM SODA!" And ejaculate in her can.
