"hate" is all based on peoples tastes. if a pedal doesnt reach what they want, they hate it. if u play it, and like it, buy it...simple.

i owned an OCD and got tired of it and sold it (I remeber even loving this pedal, till i started hearing all its flaws) i gotta say it aint is good as everyone is saying...

its a really thin fizzy pedal, the description on the site is really misleading
it cleans up good and the harmonics are good too, and it also looks cool, but thats about it
not only is the distortion fizzy its also quite harsh, not a subtle OD at all
this pedal is only somewhat good for leads, it is utterly USELESS for rhythm

i give it a 6.835/10

don't fall for the hype man this pedal is not worth its price

get a boss bd-2 and mod it with the monte allums h20 mod, and if you want true bypass just make a simple looper, i find this modded pedal a lot better than the OCD
its amazing for ryhthm it FATTENS up everything and is quite transparent, and is a lot smoother, than the OCD, and after the mod the harmonics are amazing, its like having an octave pedal (yes i am exagerating, only by a little).

I wouldn't trust the general UG opinion of the OCD, seeing as nearly everyone here seems to think it sounds like god in a box; but on other forums it's hardly more popular than any other overdrive. I'm also fairly sure most of the UG OCD fans have never played one.

There's no better way than just trying it yourself.

actually the OCD is one of those pedals that is not for everyone

I'm one of UG's OCD fans, but there's a good reason too, I own one and have so for over 6 months, so I have experience with it.

I prefer using mine for rhythm.
How to achieve Frank Zappa's guitar tone:

Step 1: Buy a Gibson SG
Step 2: Insert Green Ringer, EQ, 3 dead squirrels and a microwave into said SG
Step 3: Plug in and freak the **** out.

i suppose i have been biased towards the little white box, as It seemed to sound good to me. I found a new small box to find hope in. The Cmatmods Signadrive. It sounds full and has loads of gain on tap, it is also very very transparent. go to cmatmods.com for more information...

You CAN play anything with anything....but some guitars sound right for some things, and not for others. Single coils sound retarded for metal, though those who are apeshit about harpsichord probably beg to differ.

Yep, you're an exception.

It's like when people bash some amps such as MGs or Marshall Vintage Moderns, a lot of the people bashing them havent played them, but I have. Plus I kind of started the VM bashing, since I was one of the first to try it and to review it. Like you can bash things or say they are awesome, if you have a ground for it!

i own one, i love how dynamic it is, you can really control the tone with the volume knob. defiantly not one to crank the drive all the way up and expect it to sound good on an amp at low volume. Really well suited for to boost an amp that's really being driven though.

I can see what you guys are saying about the site being misleading, i think all of the sound clips are using all fine vintage guitars and amps... but he does say the equipment used.
Guitars: Les paul standard faded(wcr crossroad pickups), SG special(wcr crossroads) Roadhouse strat, G&L ASAT, Mahogany Strat (P90 and SD JB)

Amps: Vox AC-15 w/celestion blue, Vox AC-4tv, Orange tiny terror head, Ampeg Reverberrocket.

I love the OCD, but people are right. The pedal CAN get fizzy at times, and sometimes it just isn't that usable for rythyms.

Then again, it depends on how you dial the pedal.

I still haven't tried it.
I hear nothing but good things, but it might just be one of those UG fads.

plus I've already modded the **** out of my TS-9 and dont wanna get rid of it for a new OD

^I like TS-9's.

Not as much gain as the OCD, but it's very smooth.
