I'm completely new to this and I don't know jack crap about electronics and schematics and all that stuff. So my question is what exactly does modding a guitar do? I'm guessing it changes tone?

and I guess what I meant by modding was if you can cross wires or something to get a different tone. I have a Telecaster with EMG pickups.

This question is much like "If i paint my house, what color will it turn into?",

obvious answer for that question is "depends on the paint"

Modding your guitar does indeed change your sound, in what way it changes depends on the parts you mod / replace.

When you mod a guitar, you just put different parts & stuff on it - generally higher quality than before .

Or could be worse parts. Still a mod just in a very odd form.

P.S.
