You can get the switch itself at a Radioshack or some place like that. You'll need whats called a momentary switch, and has to be one thats "normally open". You could install it yourself, but keep in mind that you have to put a hole in the guitar body to mount it. So if you feel comfortable drilling the hole and soldering the wires, yeah you could do it. I took mine to to the local shop and let the repair man do it for about 20 bucks. The switch itself should be around 5 dollars, probably less.

you can just make your own. if you use a gibson les paul (or something close) if its a 3 way switch and you know the knobs for the treble position (on the tag around the switch), turn the main volume of that pickup down, then in lead position when you pull the switch back it works as a killswitch. but for more control, a proper killswitch is best. like bucketheads
